The Informatics Branch of Education Information and Documentation Division. Department of Educational Planning Research and Development. Federal Ministry of Education has the mandate to, among others, showcase and disseminate news of programmes, events and activities of Federal Ministry of Education Departments, Divisions. Units and Federal Government Colleges/Federal Science and Technical Colleges [FUC’s/FSTCs.) to promote synergy and keep Education stakeholders up to date and well informed on the activities of the Ministry through the FME Newsletter and the Unity Spotlight Magazine.

The aim of the Spotlight Magazine in essence is to promote academic excellence, engender healthy competition among the colleges in actualizing the vision and mission of the FUC’s as well as track and document the progress. When the Premier Federal Unity College-Kings College was founded in 1909 by the colonial government, the core objective was to train high quality manpower for government establishment.

The editorial board hopes that the Spotlight Magazine will stir up the drive for excellence and global compeliveness in the sector and lake education to enviable heights as the nation looks forward to becoming one of the top twenly economic models in the year 2024.
